I have decided it is time to act.

For years I have watched Christians retreat from difficult public questions, pastors carry enormous pressure alone, and biblical Truth steadily pushed to the margins. I do not believe we can continue with business as usual.

That is why Church And State is launching ‘AWAKENING THE CHURCH‘, a brand-new national initiative to call Christians back to Scripture, prayer, courage and faithful public witness.

According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, 43.9% of Australians identified as Christian in the 2021 Census. A Census answer is not the same as active faith, but it shows the scale of the opportunity. Millions still carry the name of Christ. What could happen if even a fraction were awakened, equipped and brought together?

I want to take this message on the road through churches, pastor workshops, public rallies, biblical teaching, digital content and practical resources. The provisional early-November mobilisation with Bishop Ceirion H. Dewar in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane will be one visible beginning.

The first step comes sooner: in early October I’m running specialist training in Melbourne to help pastors teach their congregations biblical discernment and civic responsibility ahead of the Victorian election — equipping Christians to think clearly, not telling them how to vote.

To launch the first phase properly, Church And State urgently needs to raise $99,000 by 30 September. Your gift will help fund content, pastor engagement, research, travel, public events, communications, database growth, donor care and the systems required to sustain the work.

This initiative does not belong to a political party. It belongs under Christ. Its purpose is to help Christians think biblically, pray seriously, speak courageously, love their neighbours and live faithfully in public as well as in private.
